Linda Steyn Physiotherapists, the physiotherapy practise located at Arwyp Medical Centre, strives to provide its patients with a range of physiotherapy choices by employing physiotherapists with focus areas of interest, working in every field of physiotherapy. The practice has a large scope of interests, with each physiotherapist having their favoured focus areas. As the patient’s condition stabilizes, treatment shifts to early mobilisation and rehabilitation. General medical and surgical patients are also treated with a new focus on respiratory rehabilitation of patients with chronic lung diseases.
The following hospital in and out-patient services are provided in the following fields of physiotherapy:

Dr. Linda Steyn (Principal Associate) PhD Physiotherapist
Linda qualified as a Physiotherapist at the University of the Free State in 1991. She entered into private practice in Kempton Park in 1992, and after 6 years bought 50% equity in this practice after which she acquired sole ownership in 2000.She completed her Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy (focus area – Orthopaedic Manual Therapy) at Pretoria University in 2002 and continued with her studies. In 2005 she received her Ph.D. degree from the North West University. Besides treating patients, she is also a part time lecturer at the Physiotherapy department of Wits University as well as post-graduate programmes run by the South Africa Society of Physiotherapy (SASP). She is also on the National Executive Committee of the SASP where she is chair of the Professional Development Portfolio. Currently one of her major aims is the implementing of the neck conditioning programme she developed for schoolboy rugby players. Special interests: Chronic musculoskeletal pain and challenging sports injuries.
Lana Van Lil (Associate), Senior Physiotherapist
Lana qualified as a Physiotherapist at the University of the Witwatersrand 2004 and joined the LSP team in 2008. She completed the one year Orthopaedic Manual Therapy course in 2007. Other courses completed include dry needling, soft Tissue injuries, joint disorders, and SIJ dysfunction. Special interests: Orthopaedic rehabilitation.
Jeanette van der Walt (Senior Physiotherapist)
Jeanette qualified as a physiotherapist at the University of Pretoria and completed additional courses in Dry Needling, the Amazing Nervous System, Nags and Snags and Developmental delay in children. She worked in a military setting for a number of years as well as overseas in Canada for 3 years. Jeanette rejoined the LSP team in 2008. Special Interests: ICU, Neurology, Orthopaedics
Nyameka Kalipa (Physiotherapist)
Nyameka qualified as a physiotherapist from University of Western Cape in 2000 and joined the LSP team in 2010. She has experience in Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Medical, Surgical, Neurology and Intensive care unit. She did post-graduate courses in the Autonomic Nervous System, Dry Needling, Kinesiology Taping and Biomechanics of lower limb. Special Interests: ICU, Neurology, Orthopaedics
Herman Steyn (Physiotherapist)
Herman qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2007 at the University of Pretoria and joined the LSP team in 2010. He is currently (2010) completing the post-graduate course in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. Additional competencies include dry needling, paediatric and neonatal treatments, rehabilitation of lower limb amputees and orthopaedics. Special interests: Paediatrics, Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy and Rehabilitation.
