  • the first hospital on the African continent to be ISO certificated (2003) and achieve recertification  (2006 & 2008)
  • 5 star grading on the Discovery Health hospital rating index
  • The hospital made South African private hospital medical history with the birth in June 2006 and successful separation in September 2007 of Craniopagus Type A Siamese twins, Danielle and Danika Lowton
  • presented with Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) Award for Excellence at a function in 2006 attended by the Minister of Health for introducing new technique on spinal surgery to SA and with third place in the HASA Marketing section in 2007 for the hospital’s involvement with the Siamese twins
  • awarded Kempton Park Sakekamer Business of the Year 2004
  • Arwyp’s CEO, Otto Wypkema, was awarded Businessman of the Year 2005
  • leading member of the National Hospital Network (NHN) of which Arwyp CEO is also the CEO
  • Arwyp student SA’s Nursing Student of the Year in 2004 and 2005
