Arwyp Medical Centre launched its new Admission-in-Advance service on 28 June 2011 with a function for staff of the specialists and doctors’ medical practices which will be referring patients to the hospital. The service will enable all Arwyp patients to complete the admission process in advance of the day of arriving at the hospital for the procedures they are to undergo.
Admission-in-Advance forms were given to the staff of the referring doctors in order for them to be available at the consulting rooms where they could be given to the patients. This will then enable the patient to complete the forms at home prior to and in preparation for admission. In doing so the patient will be able to improve and speed up his or her admission process. Having completed the Admission-in-Advance, patients will be fast-tracked on the day of the procedure with the minimum delay, problems and frustration at what is generally an anxious and uncertain time for them anyway.
As an incentive, the number of referred Admissions-in-Advance will be monitored on a monthly basis. Feedback will be given to the doctors and prizes for the most referrals will be given for both GP and specialists rooms. These will be handed out at the annual secretaries’ function which will be held towards the end of the year.
