The Student Representative Council (SRC) under the guidance of 2 members of the teaching staff at the Arwyp Training Institute (ATI) identified the Feed My Children project of the Northfield Methodist Church as their community outreach project for 2009. The Feed My Children project is run entirely by volunteers where they prepare meals to feed over 2,000 children once a week at 5 different schools in the Bapsfontein and surrounding areas.
The SRC asked all members of staff to donate canned food or maize to this project. Blankets and children’s clothes were also welcome.
A BIG thank you to all who contributed so wonderfully to the above project! Staff and 10 learners (mainly SRC members) will be delivering all your contributions to the Northfield Methodist Church on Friday morning and will assist volunteers with the preparation of lunch for 600 children at the Bhekakayo School in Bapsfontein!
