A new Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) was opened at Arwyp Medical Centre in March 2006. A new state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation machine was acquired by the hospital and is being housed on the 8th floor of the building. This highly specialised machine, often used in emergency situations, is used to perform angiograms and stenting of the coronary arteries. With the recent power cuts in mind, the hospital has also recently purchased a new generator for use in emergency situations.
