The orientation programme for newly appointed Arwyp employees has recently been updated and was re-launched on Monday 5 June 2006 for all new staff members who joined the hospital this month. The aim of the programme which begins at 08h00 in the Rehab Auditorium, 3rd floor on the first Monday of each month is give the new staff members a general overview of the organization, show them the hospital environment and the hospital layout and expose them to its norms and values, policies and protocols and the organizational philosophy. The success of the macro-orientation program depends largely on the attendance of all staff prior to commencement of their formal duties and the participation of all the “old” Arwyp staff in making the new “family members” realise what a great hospital we work in.
Presentations are given by the following departments: skills development, nursing, human resources, quality, infection control, security, IT, nursing training as well as a one hour hospital tour led by the marketing department.
